We will be in London after the Rick Steves tour... 3 days....We would like to take a day trip to Liverpool...Has anyone done this..? We are great Beatle fans and thought it would be fun....How long would it take to get here...And what train would we take...I am just looking into it now....Thanks.

You can take the train from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street and the fastest train takes about 2 hours 14 mins. See www.national.rail.co.uk for schedules. And I'm sure you can find lots of tours or just do it on your own. http://www.visitliverpool.com/

I would agree with LeeB. If you can commit to times and dates before you go, you could probably get those train tickets cheaper online than if you waited till you got there. www.nationalrail.co.uk. it where you can get them.

Pam: A quick search on nationalrail.co.uk shows a traveling time of about 3.5 hours or longer with changes at Bristol Temple Meads and Stafford going into Liverpool Lime Street.
