12-14 day trip for Ireland and UK?

All of that is too much, but I think you could have a really good, if fast moving trip with a few days in London, then Wrexham on the way to north Wales, a few days in north Wales, and ferry from there over to Dublin and finish up with a few days there. Fly home from Dublin. Save Scotland for a future trip.

I would start by thinking about how much time you want to spend in each place. If the most important places to you are London, Wrexham, and somewhere in Ireland, I would say four to five days in London, then get the train to Wrexham, then fly from Liverpool over to Dublin or Belfast (or wherever it is you want to visit in Ireland). Unless there is a particular reason you want to experience the ferry, flying is much faster and generally very inexpensive. I don't think you'd have time to include Scotland personally. For the Wrexham match you would need to be mindful of the Championship League schedule, with the 2026- 2027 season finishing on 1 May 2027- it finishes earlier than Premier League. Firstly trying to see 5 countries in 12-14 days is wholly impractical in my view. You will spend most of your time in airports and/or on trains and see very little. I would concentrate on one or two of the countries that most interest you and even then narrow down the actual places.

The football requests will make things even more complicated. It saddens me that your team choices should be based on a Hollywood impression of one of our 92 English league clubs (I know Wrexham are in Wales but they play in the England league system). The Championship regular season will end on 1st May 2027. Wrexham have a home game that day but your chance of tickets will rely on whether you can get and afford hospitality tickets. They have a game at Charlton Athletic in south east London on 24th April. You have a better chance of getting into that game but you will either need to accept tickets in the home areas, where openly supporting Wrexham will likely lead to your ejection from the ground or buy hospitality - likely to be an easier option there. A further complication is that the game could be moved for live TV coverage to any time across the weekend from Friday night to Monday night and it won’t be fixed until a few weeks before at that time of the year.

Liverpool or Chelsea on 8th May is likely to be either very difficult or very expensive for hospitality. Both teams are scheduled to be away that day, at Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur respectively. Given the opposition it’s highly likely that the kick-off times will be moved for TV, again at relatively short notice. Trying to plant a shortish holiday around all that will be very challenging.

I will leave any football advice to those who know it. You can’t see everything you want in that time frame, it’s a matter of priorities, Cat VH’s plan is also a good one. That would give you more time in Ireland, but none in Wales, which I think is a wonderful part of the UK with its mountains and castles, but of course Ireland has beautiful countryside also. I haven’t taken the Holyhead to Dublin ferry but it looks like it wouldn’t necessarily take a lot more time than flying from an airport such as Liverpool if (and only if) you want to do Wales.

Putting aside the challenges of getting tickets for football games trying to plan a trip around a game or two when you won’t know the day or time the games will kick off makes things very very difficult. The only games that we know the kick off time for of those I outlines above will be Wrexham’s home game with Bristol City will be at 12.30pm on 1st May. That is because all the last set of games in a division kick off at the same time to avoid @ny unfair advantage. But Wrexham home game tickets are hard because of the small ground.

I probably agree putting Scotland for another trip then and sticking to Ireland, a bit of wales and England. In regards to the football matches even if I can’t actually go in person which I know is a struggle and yes I’m aware of the dates of the end of the season, I’d love to at least be at a local pub to watch them for sure with supporters for some good ol fun. I assume around 4 days in Ireland (Galway and Dublin at least), 2-3 days Wales, and the rest in England? I know the bank holiday can make this more of a pain, but it’s nothing that I can’t handle or deal with as a tourist

If what you is to be at an English football game then that should be no problem - your issue is the teams that you have mentioned. There will be many games over the time you’re here that you will be able to get tickets for just before or even on the day of the game. I totally understand why you would want to watch Wrexham in Wrexham and I say that as someone who lives in enemy territory, Chester. We have been trying to kill each other for at least a thousand years.
Regardless of cynicism about ‘Hollywood’ money investing in the team it has done wonders for the economy of the town and surrounding area. They have also been exciting to watch, not always for good reasons:-)

I think getting an actual ticket to a match will be difficult but watching in a local pub should be totally doable.
If accommodation in Wrexham is in short supply staying in Chester and travelling over on public transport would work. Chester and the North Wales area is a lovely place to visit anyway with good links to London, Liverpool, Manchester.

As well as the trains to Chester, Wrexham also has a very good bus service into Chester (Railway Station)- every 15 minutes in the daytime, every half hour in the evening until almost 11pm.

There is also a secondary rail route from Wrexham to Liverpool- the Borderlands line, change on to the Merseyrail network at Bidston. The Borderlands line is a lovely route.
There is also a good bus service from Wrexham to Llangollen, and all the way to Dolgellau and Barmouth, with connections into the heart of Snowdonia.
