Windsor questions: lodging and the castle

2 nights in Windsor.

Has anyone stayed here Charles House?
The other options that we are considering are:

The Rutlands B& B or Travel Lodge

We arrive around noon on a Thursday. If we wait until Friday to tour Windsor Castle the State Apartments will be closed. Is it possible to get to the Castle in time on Thursday?

Have not stayed in Windsor but just returned from London. We went to Windsor last Wednesday from Waterloo by train on the 1058 am and arrived close to noon at Windsor train station. We then browsed a couple of shops on our way to castle. We toured St. George’s Chapel before heading to the State Apartments. We were eating lunch by 3:15 pm in town at a lovely brasseries named the Harte and Garter on High Street overlooking Windsor. It is attached to an inn and spa by same name.

Your post doesn’t indicate whether your arrival by noon is to Windsor or LHR.

We had plenty of time to visit Windsor entirely.

Depending on when you going to Windsor, buying tickets ahead, online, is wise. We had tickets and walked past a very long line that went from the castle entrance down to the statue of Queen Victoria at the beginning of the town.

You'll have plenty of time on Thursday to tour it all. We had skip-the-line tickets and probably didn't walk through the gate til 3PM and still had time. I will admit we did a fast loop through State Apartments without the audio guide. If you're intent on following the audio guide room by room, go earlier than we did. (I was basically over looking at formal room after room before we even got there.)
