Winchester accommodations

Hi, any recommendations for Winchester hot or B&B in June? I'll be taking a train from London, and staying in Winchester my first night before I hike the South Downs Way. Thank you!

I can recommend the Winchester Royal Hotel - historic building with spacious rooms, easy 10 min walk from the train station and central to everything in Winchester but on a quiet street. The rooms facing the gardens are extra-quiet. There is a full-service restaurant if you need that as well as a nice terrace in the garden with bar service if you just want to relax outside.
Another good option is a room at the Wykeham Arms. They have very nice bedrooms with the bonus of an award-winning Fuller's pub on the premises (good food, cozy and quirky-in-a-good-way atmosphere). It's a bit further from the train station on the other side of the cathedral near Winchester College - still central and easy to reach the starting point of the South Downs Way.
Enjoy the hike!
