From another guidebook (sorry, Rick) I saw a small B&B in Notting Hill called The Main House. It's pretty small, which may be one reason it's not in Rick's guidebooks, but it looks nice and is reasonably priced at £110. Has anyone been there?
Just checked it out.Very nice. Wish I had known about this accommodation for our recent London stay.
Instead we paid almost the same price for a souless prison cell in the Ibis Euston.

Even though our travel dates for next May did not appear available on the Web site, I emailed Caroline Main, the owner, and she said there is a room available, albeit at 130 pounds a night. There are only three guest rooms, and this low number may be the reason why it doesn't make it into Rick's guidebooks.
Rick cannot possibly list all the accommodations in London (or even all the "good" ones), so the fact that a place is not listed in his book means nothing. And, as you say, if a place has only three rooms, it would be pointless for him to list it, as it would always be booked and so would frustrate rather than help his book's readers.
