I reserved this hotel because it was a recommended hotel and a 10 minute walk from my conference at Paddington. The website clearly states for each room type that the rate includes the hot breakfast buffet. This hotel is not inexpensive. I read some reviews just before traveling and see multiple bad reviews about the manager and not honoring the free breakfast.
It is true. The manager does not honor the included breakfast as stated on the website. He wanted to charge me £15 more each day for what was supposed to be included.
The room itself seemed clean, but the TV didn’t work. The central ac was not working, so they put a portable ac unit in the room.
I do not recommend this hotel, the manager cheats his clients. There are plenty of other hotels nearby.

I had a similar experience at Sumner.I travelled to London for my cousin's wedding.I'm someone who always likes to plan my trip well in advance and do all my research before booking the hotels.But unfortunately because of the dates issue I had to book Sumner Hotel where the manager was unapologetically rude and did the same with me stating that breakfast is something I had to pay for as an extra, which seemed extremely unfair as the website stated otherwise. Would highly recommend to never book this hotel.Though the rooms were clean but the dryer was not working.Nothing was done about it.I had also posted reviews online, so that it helps others.

I agree completely! This hotel is way over-rated and too expensive for what you get. Did I like anything? Just the location; that’s it. First thing I was told was that there is a charge for breakfast. Mini bar (also advertised on their website) is an empty frig. In order to darken the room at night, I used a hair clip to hold the drapes closed. TV didn’t work. Lights are so dim, it is difficult to read or put on make up. The desk chair was visibly soiled and the padding collapsed when you sat on it. Don’t book this hotel; you will be disappointed.
