We would like to spend one night between our time in Conwy and Keswick that is along the route or not far off the route. Any suggestions for a place that has beauty and interest for the 20’s year olds in our group. They like old places.
Chester is the obvious choice for “old” places. For beauty, there is the Forest of Bowland area or Dent/Hawes/Settle in the Yorkshire Dales.
This is posted in the reviews section and would be better in the England section of Destination Q&A.
It's a personal list item, but I'm anxious to see the famous Silver Swan automaton in Teesdale, which is only operated certain hours. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_Swan_(automaton)
Chester is a a walled city with a lot of history.
Liverpool is good is they are Beatles fans.
The Silver Swan is a 2 hour detour from your route.
