Review of The Bakehouse B&B in Seahouses, Northumberland

I really liked The Bakehouse B&B in Seahouses. It was right in town and a very short walk down to the harbor. My room was nice and quite large. The bathroom was across the hall, but it’s all enclosed in a suite no one else can access. There was a small mini fridge, TV, kettle, coffee and tea, and snacks.

The bathroom was very nice and large as well and had a nice deep tub. Downstairs was a lovely common area where you could hang out, read, watch TV or whatever. And it was just a few steps away from the Black Swan Inn, which is a gastropub with excellent food and drink. I had one of my best meals in England here. The B&B is owned by Julie, a local artist who was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included, which was really delicious. Seahouses itself was a nice location, as I loved staying near the water, and being so close to places like Bamburgh and Holy Island/Lindisfarne.

One issue I had was that I booked my room through her website by emailing her. Unfortunately she did not take credit cards so I had to run to an ATM with cash. But she is on Booking.com, and travelers can use a credit card there. I paid £300 for 3 nights, and would definitely stay here again.

Mardee, Thanks for this review.
I definitely want to stay here!
Must go to the Black Swan Inn, too.
The photos on your blog of it were lovely.

I did, Pam! And it was a cute town. I liked it because it wasn't as "gentrified" as some of the others. I talked to a lot of locals in shops, and loved the woman who had the Puffin's Burrow that sold all the Roka bags. We had some deep conversations about those bags!
