Review of Laskill Grange self-catering cottages, North Yorkshire

I rented Foxglove Cottage, which was part of a small area with about 4 cottages and a large guest house in an area called Laskill Grange, for a week. The cottage had a really cute living room with an electric fireplace, a TV, dining area, kitchen, and a large bedroom with a king size bed. There was no washer but there were several electric radiators for drying.

There was a gorgeous view right outside my cottage, andhorses in the next field. The area was very quiet and sat in the middle of some absolutely beautiful scenery. I saw many pheasants when out walking or driving, and lots of other wildlife. It's about an 8 minute drive to Helmsley, which has a number of good restaurants, cafes and shops. Rievaulx Abbey is a short distance away, as are a number of other sites in North Yorkshire. Thirsk is about 30 minutes away by car. The cottage was £500 for the entire week. You also had the option of getting prepared meals delivered by the owner for an extra cost.

It was really a lovely place and I would definitely stay here again.

Barbara, someone here on the forum recommended it when I was posting about looking for a base in Yorkshire. She had stayed there in 2019 and recommended it. It was really a charming place.
