Restaurant in South Kensington

Looking for a restaurant recommendation in South Kensington (or close). We just want a nice, quiet dinner with a slightly upscale atmosphere but not extremely pricey (entrées around £25-30 or less). Thank you!

We also would like a recommendation or two in South Kensington area. Over Christmas.

Take a look at Tom's Kitchen--it is located in Chelsea but only a few blocks from South Kensington. It should meet your price point. We have eaten there several times and were never disappointed. Nice atmosphere.

Stecca on Hollywood Road (off the Fulham Road) is at the upper end of your main course £, but has very good Italian food in a lovely neighborhood setting. Technically in Chelsea, but just a few blocks shy of South Kensington. http://stecca.co.uk/

Here exuberant Chef/owner Stecca talks about the white truffles that just arrived on an Instagram video Stecca truffles

This restaurant is on my list every visit to London, and it’s never disappointed.

Many South Asian restaurants strive for fancy surroundings at moderate prices. Napkins and tablecloths, a swarm of attendants, and well aware of the need to go gently on the spices. I liked this place in Earl's Court, a couple of blocks from the Tube station and one of a chain: masalazone.com
