Recommendation for B&B in York, England

We are traveling to York in November. Any recommendation for a centrally located York B&B? Will need 2 rooms and breakfast provided in the cost.

Thanks.

We stayed at the small Galtres Lodge Hotel located very central on Petersgate. Their breakfasts were included and were amazing! The entire staff’s hospitality made us feel like we were staying at a B&B. When we return to York, I hope we can stay there again.

We are heading to York for 3 nights in August and after much research booked No.21 B&B. What drew me were the excellent reviews, location near the train station and the historical core, and the included breakfasts. Simon, the owner, has been prompt and helpful with my barrage of pre-trip questions. He has provided me with a short-cut walking route from the train station, a list of recommended restaurants, and suggestions for sights to see. I have even arranged for No.21 to do a load of laundry for us. I appreciate good customer service like this!

We liked our stay at No.21 York. A quick glance suggests current reviews are also still quite favorable. It was an easy walk from the train station and easy walk to attractions and sights through a pretty park and abbey ruins. Our room was very comfortable and the included breakfast was perhaps the best of any B&B we have stayed in.

Safe travels.

We liked the Abbey Guest House, right on the riverbank, easy walking to the Minster, medieval center, station, and Railway Museum. The ownership has changed since we stayed there years ago but from the website it still seems fine. They had limited parking if that matters.

We also stayed at the Abbey Guest House. Good location. We could walk to it from the Train station. And walkable to York Minster, and all the downtown sites. Plus it was a short walk to the bus stop that goes to Castle Howard. Breakfast was included.

Make that 3 votes for the Abbey Guest House. We stayed there last June; it was the perfect location and Rob was the perfect host. They weren't doing breakfasts yet when we stayed there, though. Perhaps that's changed?

We're booked at No 21 York this coming summer. Since their normal breakfast has bread that contains an ingredient I can't eat, the host offered to bake bread just for me! I haven't taken him up on it, but I was really touched. Can't wait to try this place!

Last fall, we stayed at No. 34, another recommended in RS England. My daughter and her partner were willing to share the family room (1 queen and 2 singles) with us for a couple of nights so we could save about half as much as one of the others which I almost booked because it was a wee bit closer to the city walls. Jason, the host, was great. We had a couple of loads of laundry ready by the end of the day, and free parking. He has about 5 rooms in a variety of sizes, including a tiny one for 1 person. It is a lovely little place with a short walk to the city centre.
