Our family of four is planning a trip to London this June and we're looking at the Premier Inn Holborn as a possible lodging option but we aren't familiar with that part of town. Has anyone stayed there before? Is it a safe walking neighborhood? Any advance info would be appreciated...thanks!
Yes it’s perfectly safe with the normal city caveats. As with virtually anywhere in London the danger is crossing the road.
I've stayed there a couple of times and would again. It's nicely located and doesn’t look like much from the outside, but is redone on the inside with Premier Inn's comfortable beds. Also the street it is on is quieter and there are some fun breakfast places there.
Perfectly fine.
Easy stroll to the Sir John Sloane and British Museums. Great traditional pub, the Dolphin Tavern is near by.
Holborn Underground Station is close by. Central and Piccadilly lines.
Enjoy London.
LIke the area. Love Sir John Sloane Museum.
There are a couple of casual places open for breakfast no more than one block south on that street (Red Lion), plus quite a few other restaurant options opening later in the day. And my room was very quiet. There's not much traffic on Red Lion St.
Thanks for the responses! We've decided to try Holborn...looks like it's fairly close to a lot of the things in London that interest us, and our experience with Premier Inns in the past has been positive.
I hate to nitpick, but I keep seeing this on this forum: it's Sir John Soane, no L.
