No. 21 York, Superb!

My wife and I were in York, UK as part of a two-week country wide vacation. When planning our trips, we like to stay in centrally located B&Bs in a neighborhood setting. No. 21 York B&B is located just a 7 minute walk from the York Train Station and fit our expectations perfectly. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our host, Simon Boyle who suggested places to visit and explained the breakfast menu for the next morning.

Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The private bathroom and shower were just across the hall.
The Yorkshire breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, beans, and homemade muffins was amazing!

When traveling in Europe, we typically follow Rick Steves' recommendations for lodging and restaurants. While No. 21 is not currently listed by Rick, the 5.0 excellent rating for location, cleanliness, service, and value by TripAdvisor was accurate.

If you are planning a trip to York, definitely consider staying at No. 21 York!

I agree completely! We stayed here two years ago and it was excellent. I think I recall slippers and plush terry cloth robes. The breakfast was the best we’ve had in any B&B. Enjoyed the short walk each day through the beautiful city garden to nearby attractions. A perfect stay.

No black pudding? A Yorkshire breakfast is not complete without black pudding, I don't usually care much for it but I had some particularly good black pudding last time I was in York. Hash browns don't belong on an English Breakfast, they're an American invasion and don't merit inclusion ; )
