Has anyone stayed at the Nell Gynn Apartments near Chelsea on Sloane ave? How was your experience?
We were staying in Chelsea in a very townhouse apt , walked by and saw the Nell Gwynn apts, went there and were able to see one that was empty. There are many units, in fact, it was a way too large a complex for us, did not appeal to us at all. Lots of residents were hanging out in the lobby which gave it a crowded feeling. I am sure it is OK but was not what we were looking for in regard to a future visit to London. Unit interior was fine, nothing special, standard looking.
We stayed there several years ago. We had originally booked a VBRO managed by an agency and the agent shifted us to an apartment at Nell Gwynn at the last minute.. The facility was clean, well-staffed and we enjoyed the feeling of living with locals. The location was central and we found 2 tube stops relatively close. We could walk to the Natural History Musuem, the V&A, as well as Harrods. There was a Sainsbury Market across the street and a bus stop right in front. We ate at an Indian restaurant about a block down the street that was fine, then. Our only complaint was the apartment was misrepresented as being able to sleep 4 and it couldn't. The "sleeper couch" was actually a foam love seat that unfolded on the floor. Thankfully, one of our party didn't show. In those days, each apartment was individually owned.
Hope this helps.
