my husband and our adult daughter are going to London this December or January. We like to stay in nice places with breakfast. we'd like a hotel where we can get our daughter a single room and us a larger room. We are not looking for budget. we want something nice and in a good location. Can anyone recommend a hotel?
You are posted in the "Review" section. Since you are asking a question about lodging you will get better responses if posted in the correct section. Try ---- England under Destination Q & A.
Although you say that you are not looking for budget, it would be helpful to know exactly what budget you are aiming for. $600 a night for two rooms? $1000 a night for two rooms? It makes a difference.
Premier Inn Paddington Station is about 500 yards from the train station and the Tube. The Heathrow Express comes in there--15 minutes. You can also get on the subway and be anywhere in town quickly.
It's a high rise property with a wonderful breakfast. It's located about 500 yards from the train station--behind a canal. We've stayed there twice.
We have enjoyed both the Ampersand and the Pelham. Both are very near the South Kensington tube station which is on both Circle and Piccadilly tube lines. So convenient to Heathrow, the museums, other sightseeing, restaurants, shopping (like Harrods). Very stylish, very good service. Nice common rooms so you don't have to be in your bedroom all the time. Nice breakfast. For random dates late Dec to early Jan about 400 pounds/room/night (that does not include breakfast) but I did not peel through all the "offers" to see if there might some other choices that include breakfast or other extras.
It would be useful to give a preferred budget. You can pay anything for a hotel in London.
Premier Inn is definitely in the budget category.
I’ll second the Pelham. It’s a beautiful hotel in an excellent location.
Take a look at the Morton Hotel near Russell Square. They have a 2 bedroom 2 bath suite.
