My wife and I spent a week at the Luna and Simone Hotel in London, 4.26 to 5.3.2026. It is everything Rick's book says it is. It is conveniently located about a 7 minute walk from Victoria Station. There is a large supermarket (Sainsbury's) on the street between the hotel and Victoria Station. Good restaurants are nearby. The 24 bus stops right in front of the hotel, which is perfect if you have heavy travel bags. There is also a 24 bus stop right at Victoria Station, near where you get on the Underground (Tube). The breakfast is wonderful, and you can have anything and everything you want that's on the menu. I wanted my eggs scrambled, not fried. No problem. Unlike some other English breakfasts, the bacon is well cooked, but not burnt. The 72 year old twin brothers running the place, Peter and Bernard, were delightful! They were there every morning with a cheery "good morning" and would answer any questions you could have. It's a family run business for over 50 years now, and that makes a difference. When we go back to London, we will be staying at the Luna and Simone! We were one floor up from the lobby and the wifi was really strong. I forgot an adaptor for my iPhone, no problem, the person at the front desk lent me one. The one note of caution: The weather was cool when we were there (mostly in the 60's) and the room was quite comfortable. There is no air conditioning, so I could see how the rooms, especially higher up, could get quite warm in the summer heat. I would highly recommend this hotel.
My husband and I stayed here twice in the past. Love it and the brothers and other staff. I would stay again. Highly recommend.
I may be going to London in October and have looked at Luna and Simone Hotel. Really liked what I read and saw but they do not have an elevator.
I am a senior with some mobility issues. i can walk up and down a couple of flights without luggage but not with luggage even though I just have one small rolling bag.
I may email them asking if there are rooms on the first floor or if they could help me with my rolling bag.
How many floor are there total and are there rooms on the first floor?
I emailed several questions to them, and received a prompt reply. You should ask about room availability on lower levels and if someone could carry your bag(s) up to your room. When you walk in from the street, I believe the only room on the main level is the reception desk, and the stairways up and down. The hotel is actually 2 separate buildings, so I believe there are 2 stairways going up, one for each building. Breakfast is served in the basement, so you would need to walk down a set of stairs every day to go to breakfast. The stairs are fairly steep, not short like many stairs in modern buildings. I live in a 97 year old house, and the stairs at this hotel are about as steep as the stairs in my house going to my basement, if that helps. I'm 69 years old and my knees ache, but I was able to go up and down OK, holding on to the hand rail. When I made the reservation, they sent me an email indicating I would likely be on the top level (I believe 3 floors up), and asked if that would be OK. I replied that would be OK, but when we checked in they said there was a cancellation and they had assigned us to the 1st floor, which is one floor up (that's how it is in Europe). On our side of the building, I believe there were 5 rooms on this 1st floor. I'm not sure how many rooms are on the 1st floor on the other building on the other side of the hotel, but perhaps the same #.
Bostonphil, I loved this hotel but was in a single room on the top floor and it was 89 steps to it. When I booked it, they did warn me, that's how I know the step count, so I think with your mobility issues it might not be a good choice unless you can get a room on a lower floor. It's a great hotel in a great location but no lift after a day of site seeing is hard to do.

How many stories is it? What I see on google street view is a 4 story building ( am I looking at the right building?)
Are the steps not the standard 7 inch rise? Or are the ceilings really 10 ft or more high?
29.67 steps per flight seems unusual.
Joe, this is what the hotel sent me when I booked. I took their word for it and appreciated that they let me know in advance so didn't take time to measure stair or ceiling heights. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there but knowing from Bostonphil's previous posts about her limitations, I was just trying to save her some time finding a hotel that was suitable to her needs.
Dear Leslie
Thank you for your reservation for 28th - 31st October. Your reservation is in order, however please note that we only have a single room located on the 4th floor (89 steps), we do not have a lift/elevator. We hope this is not a problem for you.
I've done some further checking, and the Luna and Simone hotel has 4 floors of rooms (counting the main floor, but not the basement). It does look like they have a few rooms on the main floor: 2 twin bedrooms and 1 double room on the Luna side, as well as 1 twin, 1 double and 1 quad on the Simone side, all on the ground floor. If I remember correctly, there are 3 steps up from the street to the main floor & lobby. I do remember the ceilings are quite high, and I would say the steps are about 7 inches in height. They are carpeted, and I held on to the hand rail, as I thought the carpet could be a little slippery, but maybe that's just me.
Thank you Leslie and everyone else
I do not feel this is the right hotel for me given my limitations and no lift.
