August this year? As in, 10 days from now ??
Check Booking. com to see what's available.

We drove to Bath from London and just found a B&B outside Bath that had a 'vacancy' sign in the window -- can't remember the name -- but that was a few years ago.

I don't think The Kennard is in Rick's book, but I enjoyed my stay there. In looking at their website they look pretty booked, but have some openings scattered here and there depending on what you need and what dates you are looking for.

Friday and Saturday nights are busiest. If you're using public transport, you'll probably want to stay closer to the train and bus stations (which are near each other). Drivers could find more options away from the center. Rick's hotel recommendations are all in his book, or try a search at http://visitbath.co.uk/accommodation.

We stayed at The Henry (recommended in Rick's book at the time) and really enjoyed it. Close to the train station, easy walking distance to all the sites we wanted to visit, places to eat nearby.

This past May, I stayed at The Kings Hotel in Bath. It is directly across from the train station but very quiet in the hotel. Perfect location for sight seeing in Bath as everything is walkable distance. It was also very convenient for my early morning train to London.

I stayed at the Three Abbey Green. I think I paid between 100-150 pounds a night (for a single room). But location was perfect and the rooms were nice. Breakfast was wonderful!

Also recommend The Henry, stayed there twice On different trips, once about ten years ago pre-renovation and more recently after it was redone. About four blocks from train and four in another direction from the Abbey. If you are driving there is a carpark across the street I seem to remember you can only park from eight pm to maybe eight in am for free but not sure.
