We chose to overnight here prior to flying onto Lisbon. It is a delightful hotel in a house with hundreds of years of history. The gardens are beautiful ( I think about 3 acres) and tables with white table clothes await high tea. The rooms are nicely furnished and L'Occtaine toiletries in the bath. Our bath had a soaking tub and seperate shower. The restaurant is small but stunning, with food worthy of a Michelin star. And the staff-they can't do enough to make your stay a memorable one. Now, none of this comes cheap, and if you just want a place with a bed and bath to kill time, save your money. But we wanted to kick off our European travels in style, and this place did it! Oh, I should mention I checked the prices now and again before we checked in and they had gone down from my original booking. They honored the lower price. This is a residential neighborhood so not much nearby. But a very nice pub, The Farmhouse is about a 10 minute walk. Gatwick is a 15 minute cab ride.
