Ibis Budget Southampton

I am leaving on a cruise in just a short while

Last night I stayed at the Ibis Budget in Southampton

Really nice rooms. Very comfortable bed. Very nice continental breakfast.

Was great for one night and possibly more

Best of all, very close to cruise port. I believe that I can walk to my ship

The Ibis Budget is next door to the Ibis if you wanted something a little higher up, but for me, the Ibis Budget is very very acceptable and more.

I was trying to find a video yesterday which I know exists to show the walk from the Ibis to the Dock, but can't trace it.

But yes go round the Ibis and onto Southern Road at the Police Station, turn left to the traffic lights on West Quay Road, straight over, through Dock Gate 10, and you can't miss the terminal. Yesterday I was thinking about the Dock Gate 8 entrance.

Look at the route on Google Maps. The ship berthed at 0243 this morning, it's always nice to actually see a ship that you are joining berthed and ready.

At the moment she is bunkering, from a tanker on her off side, due to complete bunkers at 1130. The Fred Olsen ship Bolette is at the adjacent berth, and the P and O Arvia (their newest ship) is at the Cunard berth.

I am already here. You know I like to be early. My check in time is not until noon but perhaps they will let me in early. Nevertheless the terminal is comfortable and I am among my soon to be friends.
