I am going to be in London in August (I know, hot, but it can't be helped...) and am looking for recommendations of a hotel near the Tower Bridge area. I am seeking a view of the river, and want to experience this area. The first one I find is the Tower Bridge Hotel. It looks "okay", not great. Any reviews? Other suggestions?
I have been to London a number of times, always staying in Kensington or Chelsea, but want to try being in this part of the City this time.

Search on Tower Bridge London in Google Maps and switch on the display of hotels - you can then review hotels in close proximity, and the descriptions may indicate whether bridge/river views are possible. For example, the citizenM Tower of London.

A hotel room with a view of Tower Bridge would be awesome, but sounds expensive! There's not so much going on in that immediate area as Kensington or Chelsea maybe. It's more business-oriented north of the river and residential, neighbourhood-vibe, south of Tower Bridge. Somewhere with a view would be great. Other folks know more about specific hotels than me though.

The Thistle Hotel is right across Tower Bridge Rd from the Tower of London. Not sure
how good it is, but I have walked by it many times.
If all you want is a view of the river, you might look for a room on a higher floor facing
the right direction in Canary Wharf. or by the O2 arena.
