We just got back from Durham a few weeks ago. It all depends upon what you like. We enjoyed the Italian food at Laspaghettata. Ignore the bouncers sitting outside they are for the bar above the restaurant. England surprisingly has good Italian food. We also enjoyed a good burger and beer at the Fat Hippo and had a good English breakfast at Bill's. The Flat White Kitchen next door to Bill's looked like it was also a popular spot for a good English breakfast.
