My husband and I will be celebrating a major wedding milestone anniversary and we're looking to pamper ourselves in a gorgeous boutique hotel in London. Not $1000/night ... but super lux. We'll be doing all the typical walking/musuem/historical tours but want to pamper ourselves at the end of the day. Any suggestions? We love to walk ... but need a good location. Thank you, kind friends.
By boutique do you mean somewhere fairly small? There are many lovely hotels in London. Look at the Firmdale hotel group. They have a number of properties all with excellent reviews. The decor is a big part of the appeal and it’s quirky British in style and definitely not like some bland anonymous chain.
By the way, in London $1000 (£740) a night isn’t even that crazy a price. Entry level rooms at Ham Yard (a Firmdale hotel) are £550 room only.
Not $1000/night ... but super lux.
I'm afraid that for London super lux means $1000+ per night. Simple lux will be cheaper but you may have to set your expectations accordingly.
Want super lux under $1000 a night in London? If you find it, let me know! Here is our favorite boutique hotel in London and it is very posh. Prices around $1000 per night, some smaller rooms less. Location can’t be beat. We prefer the Junior Suite in the Carriage House. The restaurant is tops and the cocktails and casual food at The American Bar are terrific. We are returning next year. https://thestaffordlondon.com/
Take a look at the Montague on the Gardens https://montaguehotel.com/. Great location in Bloomsbury near the British Museum. Wonderful service.
Our RS tour group had afternoon tea at the Montague last month and it was great. I'd be happy to stay there.
I have to say, it looks pretty nice. Not super lux but really nice. It’s got one big advantage if you’re going next year-it’s proximity to The British Museum where they will be exhibiting the Bayeux Tapestry on loan from France.
Henry’s Townhouse perhaps?

I highly recommend The Rubens at the Palace; sister hotel to The Montague.
More "fancy" with all the "posh" details--marble bathrooms, antique furniture and more; including a doorman.
And a concierge at the front desk to book or help you plan your day trips.
39 Buckingham Palace Rd, London.
"Opposite Buckingham Palace, this is a posh hotel with Royal Mews views."

Known for their excellent afternoon tea.
"Our unique rooms and luxury suites overlook Buckingham Palace and the Royal Mews. Exquisite fine dining options, afternoon tea lounge and three bars."
"The Royal Mews, which the hotel overlooks, is the palace entrance used by the royal family. It is also just a few moments walk to see the daily pageant of the Changing of the Guard."
Two restaurants:
English Grill (classic British steaks, chicken) and the Curry Room.
The Rubens at the Palace has more rooms than The Montague On The Garden.
And more restaurants and bars.
One thing I did not like about The Montague On The Gardens is that some of their rooms have steps to go up or down from the bedroom to the bathroom. Plus their rooms are rather small.
The rooms are more spacious at The Rubens, plus with a level floor, walk straight into the bathroom.
Our stay there was perfect; everything was excellent, including the breakfast, and dinner at the English Grill.

"This stunning boutique-style hotel overlooks Buckingham Palace and its mews, and provides personalized service. The Rubens at the Palace is a short walk from Victoria station and is ideal for Victoria Palace and Victoria Apollo theaters. The hotel is located a short walk from Westminster, Mayfair and London’s West End. Each room at The Rubens at the Palace has been individually designed with thoughtful touches of luxury as well as homely comforts."
"The Palace Lounge is a magnificent bright open space with panoramic views of The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace - the King's stables. As the royal carriages pass, it is the perfect place to start your day with a morning coffee and a selection of delicious pastries. The Palace Lounge is the ideal setting to enjoy our famous Royal Afternoon Tea."
I would look at the photos and details on the Booking website, but book directly with the hotel.
