April 2025. I just completed a solo trip to London. Wanted a place that was in a good location (5 minute walk to Victoria Station), clean accommodations and safe. This was a perfect choice for me. Room was serviced daily. A breakfast basket of fresh fruit and cereal bars was provided each morning and was sufficient to start off each morning of sightseeing. Room was small but since I was out all day long, the space was adequate for my needs. My room was on the third floor. No elevators so if unable to navigate stairs, this would not be a good choice for you.
I stayed at Cherry Court Hotel in 2022. Location was very good, easy walk to most places or to subway and bus. The rooms were clean but very small. Friend had single room on 3rd floor (she's young so stairs were not an issue). I had a double room on the 1st floor. It would be very cozy for a couple. Three years ago the rates were under £100 each. They have gone up since but are still very affordable.
This year I am staying at 122 Great Titchfield St B&B to experience a different neighborhood. It has good reviews on the forum. Only three rooms. Affordable; my single room with breakfast is £720 for six nights. I'll post a review after my stay.
We stayed there once, because it was close to Victoria Station which we would be using often. It is reasonable if you're on a strict budget but there are better options with more value for money. The rooms are VERY small (even by London budget hotel standards) and the breakfast as noted is just in-room fruit and granola bars (no juice, no coffee). Double room GBP 100.
Compare with the Celtic Hotel in Bloomsbury. For not much more you get a very nice room with a full English breakfast included, just across Russell Square from the British Museum.
Celtic's prices no longer include breakfast, and Cherry Court is no longer 100. When I priced out these two properties for September, both were more expensive than PIs, at the advance rate.
