Bus trip York to Whitby - the most scenic in the UK (official)

Regular readers will know that York is the most popular place to visit in Northern England; and when people ask where else to go, a good answer is the North York Moors and Whitby, and to take the bus from York to Whitby.

That bus route has just been voted the most scenic bus route in the UK.

Because everybody knows that that is just so much more scenic than the open top double decker from Grasmere to Bowness, or a bus through the Dales, or the highland bus from Inverness, or anything in Cornwall or Wales. Good on 'em.

That entire region is lovely. We stayed in Pickering, Whitby, and York and did some hiking and traveled by bus and train in the region and found it absolutely wonderful.
