Looking for hotel recommendations. We will arrive from Paris on the Eurostar, stay two nights then fly to the US from Gatwick. Is there a hotel that would be central to transportation to/from these locations and convenient to seeing the sights? Thanks in advance.

Depending on your budget research the Renaissance St Pancras, Premiere Inn Kings Cross, the Harlingford Hotel or the Alhambra hotel.
And be sure to wander about Granary Square behind St Pancras.

Premiere Inn St. Pancras. Directly across from the British Library. Less than a five minute walk to St. Pancras station.

That's exactly what I do too, get to London via EuroStar, spend a couple of nights in a B&B in Kings Cross, and on the morning of departure walk over to Kings Cross/St Pancras to take the Thames Link train direct to Gatwick, ca one hour...very nice, very convenient.
You can use the Oyster Card for this ride on the Thames Link. It's cheaper too than buying a separate ticket.
The Alhambra Hotel or the Fairway, or the Central Hotel across the street I have among the B&Bs on Argyle St and Argyle Square to be the best.
