This recommended by RS in his book so I'm sure its nice, but anyone have more specific and recent experience with staying in this hotel? Quiet, location, staff, ambiance? thanks

There are numerous recent reviews for it on Trip Advisor and even on Google.
I am not familiar with the hotel but see where it is on a map. It probably makes the most sense if you have a car - they offer parking with the hotel. Otherwise, I'd prefer to be further north closer to the center (though Ljubljana is so small that it isn't much of a walk from here to the center, getting down here from say the train/bus station is a bit of a hike without wheels).

We have not stayed at this property. That said, you might also take a look at the Leser Hotel Angel. Another forum contributor recently stayed here. She reported back to me that it was centrally located, extremely comfortable, quiet and helpful staff. We are going to be in Ljubljana the early part of September, before our RS Tour. We had already booked our accommodation (Mescanka) last Dec., otherwise we would have considered these hotels. Hotel Adora is just minutes from these two properties. Booking.com is another resource to see reviews.
