Is it realistic to plan a day trip to Skagen by auto from Aarhus? We would plan to leave early and return late and realize we might be limited in the amount of time in the area but we have several factors that limit our ability to visit Skagen to a day trip only. Of the features in the area, what would be the most important to see?

The drive from Århus to Skagen is almost two and a half hours each way, which may be a little steep for a day trip. However if you are up for 5 hours driving that day, the sand covered chuch, Råbjerg Mile and Lindholm Høje (which i linked to in your previous post) are all on your route.
