Traveling in Copenhagen

My wife and I will be visiting Copenhagen arriving Saturday afternoon, September 20 and we have a couple of questions about getting around. When we check transportation from the airport (CPH) to the Central train station (our hotel is within a few blocks of there) using Google Maps there are no trains, just Metros - with a change from M2 to M3 trains en route. When we check Rome to Rio for directions, it says there are frequent trains directly to the station. I also checked the DSB website and it only showed Metros. Any advice on what is correct? On another topic, we plan to be walking a lot in Copenhagen and want to know which iPhone app is best to use for step by step navigation - Google Maps, Maps.me, or something else?

Check the airport’s website, that should be the most recent and correct info.

There are definitely DSB trains, I've taken them. I use the CityMapper app for navigating. I searched on the 20th and it also only showed Metro and busses in the middle of the day. Since it is a Saturday, it is possible there are works happening on the train lines.

There are not direct trains next weekend (though there usually is). The reason is maintenance work at CPH train station.

In this case, my choice would likely be the metro. Use Rejseplanen when navigating public transport. It’s the official resource and it gets better updates than 3rd parties (such as google maps) in case of changes or delays in the service.

I have not had a problem with Google Maps for walking directions in or around Copenhagen. I'm not a user of Maps.me.

Thank you all, this has been most helpful! We thought we were going out of our minds with no trains on Saturday.

Just an add-on to Broccolihaar (who usually has the best information): Rejseplanen exists both as a web page and as an app.

I used Apple Maps for navigation because it does handoff to my apple watch. One of my sons prefers google maps because he likes to make & share lists of locations (you can add more details than the apple maps equivalent). Both of them worked well for us!
