We will be flying into Copenhagen, spend a couple of days, then go out on a cruise. Should we plan on taking a taxi for the transfer, or are there convenient bus or rail options for the transfers?
And which hotels would you recommend, close to things to reach by foot? We like mid range hotels, and are more interested in location near tourist attractions and cleanliness, instead of views, since we primarily use it for sleeping.

Copenhagen Airport is well connected by public transport. You can either take the Metro to Kongens Nytorv or Nørreport, where the more upscale hotels are located, or take the regular train to the central station (København H) where a lot of cheaper hotels are located.
The cruise port requires a change to a bus (nr 27), depending on the location of your hotel.
