Teen and Pre-Teen Trip to Denmark

Hello,

My wife and I are planning a trip to Denmark next summer. On the trip will be me, a seasoned traveler, my wife, a novice traveler, my 17-year-old kid, and my wife's 11-year-old daughter. My step-daughter has Legoland on her must-see list. However, beyond that, what could we look into to ensure the entire family has a nice trip? We were thinking of a few days in Copenhagen and then looking for a beach to relax on for a few days.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you,
Amy in Cleveland, Ohio

How long do you have? Will you rent a car? What is on the 17-year-old's wish list?
There are lots of things to see and do in Denmark for people of all ages. The only beach I can recommend is Grenen up near Skagen, where two seas meet. I haven't been yet, but it's on my bucket list.

Hi,

Here are a few random suggestion to look int:

Tivoli of course, but also check out Bakken (Worlds oldest amusement park. From 1583) - go by S train

Beach: Femøren - translates to The Nickel :-) But also check out The Harbour Bath - Go by Metro.

Giants and Trolls: (https://www.thomasdambo.com/ and https://trollmap.com/) - A car would help.

Worlds Largest Labyrinth (at least it was two years ago) in Gilleleje - You will need car

Look into the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde and see if it would appeal. If any of you like boats, vikings, archeology, woodworking in general, you'll probably like it.

The Stromma Canal Boat ride from Nyhavn provides a great overview of Copenhagen and is great for all ages. It was a highlight for us. Tivoli Gardens surprised us with the lovely gardens and rides. We liked Isobar for ice cream on Havnegade 51, and the department store Magasin du Nord by Kongens Nytorv is fun to browse. I think you will love Copenhagen.
