Still debating shoes, for the weather in August

Hi All!
We are about to leave this week for three days in Copenhagen and then a cruise to four towns in Norway. We see a lot of rain off and on and still debating if our normal Athletic type shoes that my husband and I usually wear for all the walking will be OK in the weather we see. In my past experience in summer rain in Europe it isn't really as cold or hard as winter. Any one have any thoughts before I try to pack "light"
Thanks so much.

I haven't checked the temperatures where you are heading but for the past several summers I've packed a pair of waterproof Teva Verra sandals I can wear walking all day long. They are comfortable and you can wear them through puddles and keep looking stylish. They come in 2-3 colors.

If you mean: do you need Wellies for Copenhagen, then the answer is No! I'll not comment on Norway.

Sneakers are fine. if you want to be double sure, then carry an extra pair of socks for that one time you step into a puddle.
