My wife and I will be in Denmark next April and would like to stay in Roskilde.. we would like to stay outside of Copenhagen because of the cost factor for hotels and like staying in smaller villages or towns. The questions I have is how do we get from the airport (in Copenhagen)to Roskilde and from Roskilde to the cruise port in Copenhagen? As we are taking a cruise, we will be there for three days pre cruise.
Also, is it feasible to take the train from Roskilde to Sweden as a day trip? Also is it possible to do a day trip back into Copenhagen to see the sites?
Any information or suggestions would be most helpful as we have never been to Denmark.

Airport to Roskilde: By train. Either direct or with a transfer at Copenhagen Central Station.
Roskilde to cruise: Train to Copenhagen, and then either bus/metro or a taxi to reach your ship. Take note of where your ship is docking, as cruise ships use different quays in different parts of the city.
