Any ideas about where we should go, Starting in Copenhagen and then I dont know. Will not have a car so relying on transportation. Was going to go to northern germany but I think it makes more sense to stay in Scandanavia.
Thanks, I didnt think of that, we could probably fly out of Berlin.
Any chance you're considering ferries to reach Sweden, Norway, Finland, or even Iceland? Or flying?
You can hop to any neighboring country by either plane or train, sometimes ferry, with flying usually being just as cheap as the other options. Of course, Denmark itself also has smaller towns of interest. On a 2-3 week trip, Rick's itinerary suggestions include Ærø, Odense, Roskilde, Frederiksborg, and Aarhus. The new edition of Rick's Scandinavia guidebook will be available in March.
The easiest way to see the great Baltic cities is to take a cruise out of Copenhagen.
We're going on Norwegian Cruise lines 9 day trip to Tallin, St. Petersburg, Helsinki, Stockholm and back to Copenhagen. The fare on the cruise is very reasonable, and it's so easy to travel that way.
Then we're flying over to Oslo and taking the train and ferry ride to Bergen, Norway.
