It does not look like I need to buy advance tickets for either of these sites. I looked at the Cathedral calendar and it says it is open 1300-1600 on the day we want to visit. can someone confirm this?
No need to buy advance tickets for either.
It's about a 10-15 minute walk between the two. I spent a lot more time at
the Cathedral than I thought I would and less time at the ship museum than
I thought I might. I guess I would say to try and not short yourself on time at
the Cathedral, seeing that it's open for 3 hours.
Hi Cindy!
I can confirm what shoeflyer said and agree - don’t short your time at the cathedral. It’s amazing!
We spent a LOT of time at the Viking ship museum (especially the outdoor component), but my husband is into woodworking and was captivated. We ended up on the guided tour; I initially thought I'd bow out partway through but it was very informative so I'm glad I stayed. The cathedral also has a lot to see and read, quite central to Danish history, so how you split your time will of course depend on what interests you. (We started at Cathedral and moved on to ships, because both opened at 10 the day we were there and Cathedral is closer to train station.)
