Oresund Bridge tickets

On our up coming trip to Denmark & Sweden we will be renting a car and a week later we will be crossing the Oresund Bridge into Sweden , then returning the week following.
It looks like the smart thing is to buy the Oresund Go pass for this return trip. I understand that this can be arranged when we rent the car. Is their price the same as the online price? Also do we still need to pay 175 DKK for each crossing?

First ask the rental what they offer, if they already have a contract I would use that, I don't know if the bridge allows a car being registered to multiple contracts.

ØresundGO is a subscription, so you pay a yearly fee 359 DKK and then 175 DKK per crossing. If you forget to deregister the car you also pay for other customers, if you forget to cancel the subscription you pay another yearly fee, but done right it is cheaper than two regular crossings.

Just as heads up without knowing if it fits into your overall plan.
The short ferry connection between Helsingør and Helsingborg is an alternative to the bridge. Not cheaper but you have a little rest as driver, can charge an e-car and have also a nice ferry ride for a few minutes. In best case you save a few kilometres.

What is your plan for this trip? There might be better solutions, like using the HH-ferry instead. Or simply take the train to Sweden and rent another car on the Swedish side.

Thank you for these very helpful suggestions. We will have a look at the ferry possibility. We do need the car for our time in Sweden, so a big thx for the warning to deregister the car besides canceling our subscription after our return to Copenhagen

Do you really need the same car in Sweden as in Denmark?

Thx Mark K for your tip for the HH ferry. I had a look at that but it doesn’t work for where we are and where we want to go. I also checked out taking the train from COP to Malmo but seems there are no available cars to rent there in Malmo for Sat June 15!?

Avis/Budget, Sixt and Hertz are close to the central station in Malmö but they all close early on Saturdays

Sixt Malmö offers 24 hrs pick-up and return - even outside opening hours.

Thx for your offer. However We are making these arrangements with our car rental

Hi Pebbles,

I'm in a similar situation to yourself with my plans for a Denmark/Sweden trip. Have you now completed your trip (if so, hope you had a great time!) and can you share what you did with the rental car and the Bridge toll? Did you use the annual subscription? Would love to hear someones recent experience on this.
Also, which car rental company did you use and did they offer any support on getting a cheaper way to pay tolls?

We rented car from Hertz and they looked after the bridge pass. My hubby made the arrangements so I cannot say what the difference in cost was but it was hassle free. We didn't have to cancel anything like we may have had to with the annual pass.
