My daughter is studying in Copenhagen this semester and my husband and I are planning a trip to visit her. The trip will be nine days and we will spend most of the time in Copenhagen, but want to visit other places. I was thinking of flying into Stockholm and spending a few days there and then going to Copenhagen. Are there better alternatives?
Just returned from 10 days in Copenhagen and 5 days in Stockhom taking a train between the 2 cities. The train was 5 hours and very relaxing. I would suggest at least 3 days in Stockholm. Or you could stay in Copenhagan and take day trips from there for the 9 days. We loved Stockholm and can't wait to return.
We were in Denmark for nine full days last year. We spent the first two nights in Odense (on Funen) which we loved, and then the rest of the trip in Copenhagen, with lots of day trips (Roskilde, Helsingor, Hillerod). We were never short on things to do and really had a great trip. That being said, Stockholm would be a terrific place to spend a few days too.
What about Oslo?
Then you can sail to Copenhagen: http://www.dfdsseaways.com/cruises-europe/norway-denmark-cruise
