I will be visiting Copenhagen May 19-20. I am a 61 year old cancer patient and don't want to use my energy up the typical tourist stuff. My goal is to find quaint places maybe out in the country and stroll with my wonderful husband of 40 years. I beat this 10 years ago but it has decided to come and stay this time but I have tons of spiritual energy. I am staying at the Zleep Hotel Airport. I want: coffee, pastries, fun but easy adventures. I love seeing country sides and simple picnics. Just plan on some great time with my sweetie. Any suggestions is most appreciated. Thanks, Angela
If the weather is nice you could head north to the old royal deer park Jægersborg Dyrehave and have your picnic in the forest or by the Hermitage castle. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%C3%A6gersborg_Dyrehave
The park is also home to the worlds oldest amusement park, Dyrehavsbakken https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyrehavsbakken
or you could rent a go boat (www.goboat.dk) for a picnic in the Copenhagen harbour or canals.
Morton, That is a wonderful idea and will see what bus/train/etc to do this. That is right up my thoughts of how to spend time. Thanks so very much for your advice.
You're welcome. To get to the Deer park, take the metro from the airport to Nørreport st and change to the C line to Klampenborg.
You can plan all public transport with www.rejseplanen.dk
Take a boat trip round the harbor. http://goboat.dk/en/
The boat has a table in the middle so you can take a picnic basket. In May I wouldn't book in advantage, but go when the weather suits.
Thank you so very much Morton and I.P. for you help. We have been through so much and want to just be together.
