Marriott hotels Copenhagen

We are 4 adult women in Copenhagen this July. I have some Marriott points I would like to use if possible.

This will be our first time to visit Can anyone recommend a hotel? Price wise more mid range. Close to many attractions or the rail.

Also, one of my daughters has celiac disease if anyone has good restaurant recommendations
Thank you for your time

Since I'm a local my experience with hotels in Copenhagen is ... very limited.

In terms of areas to stay in:

"Indre By" (literally Inner Town) is the centre. If you want everything at your doorstep, this is where you want to be. Very pedestrian friendly and reasonable walking distances. Most of the attractions, museums, etc. you'll visit in Copenhagen is located here. Many old/historic buildings. Lots of cafés, restaurants and shops too. But also a bit touristy and pricy. Holmen, Refshaleøen and Christianshavn are technically part of Indre By but quite different. Christianshavn can be a nice place to stay too with the canals and a short distance from the centre. Avoid Holmen and Refshaleøen, it's too far with too little going on (are there even hotels there?).

The surrounding neighbourhoods can also be a nice place to stay. Very rough generalisations: Gentrified and hip Vesterbro, affluent and green Frederiksberg, multicultural Nørrebro, or the more residential and family friendly Østerbro. All nicely connected with the metro, clean, safe, running 24/7 - and other frequent and relaible public transport. If you are comfortable riding a bicycle, you can also rent one and get around like the locals (but if you are complete beginners, the traffic on Copenhagens' bike lanes might not be the best place to start).

The Marriott is on the Sydhavnen water front, not far from Copenhagen Central Station and Tivoli Gardens.

Hope it's ok to jump on here ... similar scenario, traveling September, 5 adults, one with Celiac. Considering the Residence Inn NORDHAVN knowing that it will be a 30-minute trip into the city center but appreciating the access to a kitchen and lower rates
- no Marriott points yet :(. Is this crazy? Ages 30-70 spending 5 days in Denmark, then 5 days in Sweden. Appreciate gluten-free advice as well.

No, it's not crazy.

As you know, Nordhavn is not the city centre. It's a newly built, mostly residential and somewhat affluent area. It's a perfectly fine place to stay, just don't expect to have everything at your doorstep. So be prepared to "commute".

It's not a 30 minute trip to the centre, it's closer to 15 minutes with the metro from Nordhavn. Of course depends on where you are going to in the centre. If you get tired of the metro tunnels, you can walk to Orientkaj and take the harbour bus (public transport boat) to the centre. It's a lot slower, but offer some pleasant views. Or you can rent bicycles and try that out a day or two - it is within cycling distance of the centre.

Can't offer advice on gluten-free, as it's not something affecting those closest to me.
