Jutland

3 of us will be traveling from Copenhagen to see Legoland, Vejle, Jelling, and Viborg. What train stop would be best to use? We will rent a car from there to tour the area. Any ideas on where to stay in the area?
Thanks!

https://www.rejseplanen.dk/webapp/index.html?language=en_EN says "Vejle Station" is the best for Legoland, but I don't know about car rentals.

You can use the plan to find all your public transport options. Just type in address you start from and address you want to reach, then you get a list of options to choose from.

Viborg is quite a distance from the other three, so you might want to change accommodation during your stay.

You might want to consider staying in Silkeborg, which is south of Viborg. We enjoyed our 2015 stay at the Gl. Skovridergaard hotel and used it as our base to see that area of Jutland, including Jelling. There are also some gorgeous, ancient small churches between the two towns. The hotel has a fabulous buffet breakfast and is a short drive from central Silkeborg with its restaurants and excellent small museum (which includes an exhibit on the Tolland Man--one of Denmark's "bog people"). The hotel website is only partly in English so we used Booking.com to make our reservation.

We stayed for 5 nights in Jutland last summer and our trip included Legoland. We drove from Copenhagen airport and rented a beach house on the east coast south of Kolding. I highly recommend experiencing Jutland with a coastal rental. We had a 6 person chalet on the water and it was only about $170 a night. We easily did day trips to Legoland, Aarhus and Ribe. Your destinations might be easier to target a seaside rental north of Fredericia or on the North Western Coast.
I would avoid staying over in the Billund area as Legoland is the main attraction and misses on the Jutland experience. I would also suggest Aarhus if you are looking for a train stop with easy access to well sized rental car places.
