Ideas on how to divide our 7 day stay in Copenhagen in August

My husband and I are avid travelers. We enjoy hotels as well as the local flavor of an air bnb. Should we divide our time for a few days in Copenhagen in a hotel close to everything, and then a few days in a residential neighborhood for a slower paced itinerary for 2 nights?

if we were to stay in an airbnb in a town in Denmark, what would you say is a good place with enough to see and do?

Thanks in advance

Do you mean that want to stay in two different locations in Copenhagen - or one place in Copenhagen and one place in another Danish town?

If visiting another town, what are your interests - and I’m assuming you’re still planning to travel during August?

In a Danish context, Odense is considered a city - albeit not a large one. But it’s nice and there’s something to see for sure. I can warmly recommend Aarhus, it has a lot to offer, but it is a modest sized city - not a town.

It’s a balancing act between finding somewhere with a slow pace and somewhere with enough to see and do - some compromises have to be made. Odense is the 3rd largest city in Denmark, Aarhus the 2nd largest.

You can also look for smaller places. Ribe is worth a visit in my book, but it is also a small town - if you’re not into what it has to offer, you’ll be bored. For seaside relaxation, places like Tisvildeleje or Gilleleje are not far from Copenhagen - but really small places, you may find have too little to offer for your taste.
