Iceland & Greenland travel

Not finding anything specific for Iceland or Greenland I thought this would be a logical place to ask for suggestions and travel hints for these two countries. Anyone able to point me in the right direction or to specific resources? My public library only has one or two travel books for this region and all were checked out.
thanks in advance,
David

Went to Iceland a few years ago, and the guide book resources then were fairly limited in choice. I believe we used the Lonely Planet Iceland book, and it was fairly competent for those who want to do-it-yourself when touring.

We were in Iceland for a day last month, and were so blown away by the scenery that we are planning to go back next year. And because I haven't started researching yet, your question piqued my interest!

So I went to the interwebs to look for resources. Wikitravel has a lot of info on both Greenland and Iceland here http://wikitravel.org/en/Iceland and here http://wikitravel.org/en/Greenland. I was actually surprised at how detailed these pages are - info on regions, cities, culture, passport/visa requirements, top tourist destinations, food, accommodations, language, economy, the best ways to get around, and more.

And now, of course, I also want to go to Greenland! ;-)

Got any travel shows coming to your area?
Icelandair was at the Long Beach, CA travel show this weekend. Super, super nice and helpful staff.
They had nice brochures. I also got a map and a 1-, 3- and 7-day itinerary suggestion (on the back of the map). Perhaps they can mail you one if you email them?

Do you have specific interests?

Sorry that is how far I have gotten with my planning...Will let you know if I find anything else!
(thinking of going in June and I like to go with the flow...so we shall see)

Bon voyage!

I would check out the Fodors forum and also the Trip Advisor forum for both of these countries. While at Trip Advisor, check out the "Things to Do", restaurants and hotels for ideas as well as up to date reviews.
