Hotels in Copenhagen City Center Area

My wife and I will be in Copenhagen late June and early July. Could anybody recommend accommodations that have both Air conditioning and elevators ( possibly a Eurapean chain). Price ranges around $300/night.

I don't know much about Copenhagen hotels, since I live here and have never needed one, but I think this one might fit your bill http://www.sktpetri.com/
It's central, close to the metro and it has air con and it's in a fairly modern building, so I'm pretty sure that there is also an elevator.

Thanks. We currently have one at Marriott, but seemed pricey. Better these other two, vs there?

I'm sure the Marriott is nice, so I can only comment on location. It's not in a very interesting area, next to a main road and office blocks with few sights, cafe's and restaurants nearby.

Emily I'm sorry to be nitpicking, but there is no river in Copenhagen. There are lakes and a harbour.

Sorry to butt in on your thread.
Morten, I am staying one night at Axel Guldsmeden. Solo female. I don't plan to be out late. Any advice regarding that location?

Hi Vandrabrud
The area just behind the Central Station on Rewentlowsgade and the part of Istedgade close to the central station is sort of the red light district of Copenhagen. There are a few porn shops and some ladies of the nights selling their wares, but it is not something to be alarmed about. It's safe to walk around even at night and as a solo female, you are not a potential costumer, so you are probably safer than a 20 something male. Axel Guldsmeden is on Helgolandsgade, which a side street, so it should be quieter. If you come home late and feel that you want to avoid the seedier part of Copenhagen, approach the hotel from Vesterbrogade in the north.
The further west from the Central Station you go, the neighbourhood becomes more gentrified, with lots of hip, cheap hipster bars, cafe's and restaurants.

Thanks Morten,

That is about what I was expecting to hear. I wasn't feeling too anxious about it but it is good to be reassured.

Hotel Christian IV. It is about 4 blocks from Kongens Nytorv and the head of the walking street Stroget and about a block from the lovely gardens of Rosenborg, the place where the crown jewels are displayed. An excellent restaurant, Orangeriet, is also just around the corner from the hotel and is in the garden. Ida Davidsens fantastic sandwich restaurant is a 5-10 min walk away as well. Great location, easy to get to. Has an elevator. Rooms are basic but comfortable and not over the top costly as so much in KBH is.
