Looking for a great hotel in Copenhagen near Tivoli gardens and public transportation. Early to mid Sept. Mid price.

I'm also looking in that same date range and would love some suggestions!

I actually just booked Hotel Bethel, which is in Nyhavn. When I originally looked, most sites showed it as sold out, however I was able to book directly on their website. It is slightly confusing as I thought it was telling me it was 1990 DKK per night, however it was that total (so about $288 for 2 nights, with breakfast.. in a great location..).

Sara, if you're wanting to be closer to Tivoli, I was also looking at Andersen Boutique, however it was $463 for 2 nights, without breakfast.

I would like to stay close to Tivoli Gardens but that is a little steep. There will be 4 of us so we need 2 rooms. Budget is around $150-$175 per night.

My wife and I just spent the Easter weekend at the Savoy Hotel at Vesterbrogade 34. It was probably a 10-15 minute walk to Tivoli. It is a few minutes closer to the main train station. My wife booked the hotel at the same time she made our air plane reservations as part of a package, so I am not sure of the exact cost. My guess is that it is probably about a three-star hotel. Nothing fancy, but clean and the staff were great. A good breakfast was also included.

I began looking at center city hotels, however it's evident that Copenhagen's an expensive place for rooms. And there's also a 25% VAT on top of the room rate. You can spend a bunch of money, and still have the bathroom down the hall.
AirBnB is an alternative source of rooms. They have over 1000 listings in the city--just about everywhere. I looked at VBRO, but prices were even higher.
You can go on Priceline and get a room in the right location at a very good price--blindly.
Booking.com is a great place to look for places, too. Sorry I cannot be more specific as this is our first time going there.
We're thinking about just splurging and staying in one of the big modern resort hotels 15 minutes by subway for 3 nights. It might even make us walk less--since we'll be riding public transit coming into the center city.

We just got back from our trip. Used air bnb in Helsinki, fabulous. Had one booked for Copenhagen, but 3 days before arrival they had a flood in there bathroom, so we could not stay there!!! Last minute booking of Cabinn Scandinavia Hotel - All You Need to Sleep! We walked to Tivoli from the hotel, but it is not really, really close. Public transportation is awesome as well. The price is right. It is like a cruise line cabin but in a hotel. It is all you need to sleep, price is right and the breakfast included is quite good too! Lot's of families and seniors stay here. I would stay again.

We're flying into Copenhagen on August 25th, and have reservations at Hotel Alexandra. It's 2 blocks from the Tivoli on a major street, Hans Christensen Anderson. It's also an easy walk from the train station, where we'll be arriving from the airport.
TripAdvisor has a bunch of customer opinions, and they're generally good.
This hotel is in the middle of just about everything.
We'll be able to walk 2 blocks to take a bus directly to the cruise ship port.
