Hello:
What is the best area to stay in Copenhagen where we can walk to most major sights. We are there 4 days and 4 nights then flying to Ireland. Also any hotel recommendations.
Thanks.
Janet
Nyhaven and near the Stroget. Our hotel, the Radisson, was near Tivoli Gardens and we didn ‘t like that area.
I didn't mind being near Tivoli Gardens - it was close to many sites (I think I walked most everywhere) and was very close to the train station, which was very convenient. I stayed at the Axel Guldsmeden, which was very interesting and sort of bohemian. It seemed to fit in with Copenhagen very well and was very convenient to everything. I think it was recommended by one of the guidebooks I read - maybe Rick Steves? But I liked it.
We stayed at Villa Copenhagen. We loved this boutique hotel for our family. Great location near Central Train Station and Tivoli Gardens and very walkable for us to sights. The hotel breakfast is legendary! Rooms are tight but nicely appointed and comfortable. They also have air conditioning a rarity to find in accommodations in Denmark and if you are there in a heat wave like we were last summer this may be important to you.
