We are flying in early from Bergen to be able to go to TIvioli gardens. can anyone recommend a convenient hotel to the park. Our idea is to drop our bags off, and then go to the amusement park for the day/night. It is the last day they are open, so it is our only opportunity to go through and enjoy the park.
Tivoli Gardens is literally right across the street from the main train station Kobenhaven H,
so if you take the train in from the airport, you are right there.
There are multiple hotels within a block or two, so there are choices, and a little more info
on your parameters might help to provide a better recommendation.
You could even store your luggage at the station if you wanted to get a faster start at the
park.
we read the reviews in the Scandinavia RS book. We are considering the Cabinn city. We only have one night to fill. The next we transfer for a conference to the bella sky conference center. I know that in the past short walks by RS means double that with my short legs.... I just build it in. i was looking for someone who has experienced those hotels. We prefer breakfast provided... but it all seems ala carte. I am willing to pay if it is a nice choice of food..
When I was there in 2022, I stayed at the Axel Guldsmeden hotel, which was on the other sign of the train station and very close to Tivoli. I enjoyed my stay there. There was an outdoor garden and a cafe where you could have drinks or coffee. They also had a spa that you could book. Overall it was an enjoyable stay.
I stayed at the Absalon Hotel a few years ago. Two blocks west of the train station. I would take a shortcut through the train station to get to Tivoli.
Last month I stayed at the CitizenM Radhuspladsen, a 7 min walk from Tivoli, for several nights. Breakfast is offered a la carte but I did not partake. CitizenM is not in Rick’s guidebook but was recommended by friends who had stayed there. Fantastic blackout curtains. Check the website and photos to see if it suits you, because it has its quirks (bed arrangement, iPad-controlled temp and lights).
I would take a shortcut through the train station to get to Tivoli.
I did that, too. I will say that the train station is very nice, with lots of options for food and drink and easy to get around in, and figure out where you are goign.
Last year, we stayed at a Radisson that was right across the street. I can't remember if breakfast was included.
I'll add that anyplace situated on or close to the ringparkn Metro line will suit you well. Since it is a circle, no matter which direction you board you'll arrive at your stop. For Tivoli, exit at Copenhagen main train station and the park is more or less across the street. Tivoli was highly enjoyable to our 7-year old and as a result to us too.
We stayed at Cabinn City in May 2024. It's basically 3 or 4 blocks from the train station and Tivoli. It wasn't our goal to be close to Tivoli, but I didn't mind one bit that we could see some of the rides out our window! It is not luxurious by any stretch of the imagination, but we were comfortable enough. Since you are only staying one night, elegance might not be your top priority anyway. They have a breakfast buffet; if you purchase it the day before it saves some kroner (over deciding to eat there in the morning). The buffet was quite extensive! I don't remember exactly, because my brain doesn't work that way, but it had a variety of pastries, breads & rolls, sliced deli meats and cheeses and spreads (aka sandwich supplies), yogurt & yogurt drinks & cereal, various eggs, those super thin chocolate slices, etc. And it's convenient, saving you the hassle of finding somewhere else to eat. But if you're the kind of person who breakfasts on a slice of toast and a hard-boiled egg with a cup of coffee, not worth the cost.
Super thin chocolate slices, like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C3%A5l%C3%A6gschokolade
I'd never seen them before but instantly became a big fan :^)
Villa Copenhagen is a wonderful place to stay if you want to be in the Tivoli area. It's next to the central train station and diagonal to one end of Tivoli Gardens. We really enjoyed our stay here and from our room could see some of the amusements from the park and one night a fireworks display. The hotel also has a phenomenal breakfast buffet. The rooms also have AC which is not the norm for Denmark but when we visited there was a rare heatwave for Scandinavia and the AC was appreciated.
