Hi there, a few I've enjoyed - La Glace & Cakenhagen,

Madflubben - NOT inexpensive but a fantastic place for dinner.

Illum in Copenhagen - The Rooftop restaurants that have a great view, indoor and outdoor seating & a coffee bar that has some seats outside with a nice view of the Nikolaj Contemporary Art Center (the former St. Nicholas Church).

Someone on the Forum recommended Folkehuset Absalon, it's a shared meal at communal tables but I haven't done it personally. https://absaloncph.dk/en/food/

La Glace is really a great suggestion. It’s definitely worth checking out for pastries.

Do you like Middle Eastern food? My favourite hidden gem in Copenhagen is a restaurant called Gaza Grill (not to be confused with Gasoline Grill, which is a reasonably good chain burger joint). Gaza Grill is a Palestinian restaurant in the Meatpacking District. I was slightly concerned I was going to be bombarded with politics, but this is a place of peace and welcome. A sign on the wall says, "Make Hummus, Not War" and the manager (an Iraqi - the owner is Palestinian) welcomed us with open arms. Its the best Middle Eastern food I've ever had, and the warmest, most welcoming atmosphere I've ever experienced.

I highly, highly recommend a place called Cakenhagen, which was the most incredible cafe and pastry shop. They have two locations that are very near each other. One is inside Tivoli and one is just outside it, but both are easy to get to.

I found info on this place in the Rick Steves guidebook and had a delightful evening with delicious food. The communal meal is set up in a former church/current community center. You sit at long tables with other people and the food is served family- style (something like summer camp!) My tablemates included two other Americans, an Australian man with his adult daughter, a Chinese woman studying in Denmark, and a Danish man. So interesting. It was a really enjoyable evening, in a neighborhood away from the tourists. It was easy to get there by subway or you could Uber.

Dating from 1652, Sankt Peders Bageri ( St. Peter’s Bakery) not coincidentally located on Sankt Peders Street—. is the oldest operating bakery in all of Denmark. It’s located by the University of Copenhagen. and makes for a good stop if you’re visiting the nearby Round Tower.

The most delicious bakery items anywhere on the planet. Considering I have yet to visit Cakenhagen,
it may yet take the Cake.

We just returned from Copenhagen and I am seconding the prior response about the rooftop restaurants at Illum department store. We had an absolutely lovely dinner there on our first night in Copenhagen. There are also lots of good foodstuffs in the lower level of Illum as well, a couple of bakeries, a salad place, a dumpling place, and a grocery/market.
