We spent a few days in Copenhagen last week, and the highlight was a private tour with Red Badge Guides. Monday is when most of the museums are closed, so we researched lengthy walking tours. As always, we checked Rick Steves' recomendations. Red Badge Guides' web site offered an interesting selection of thematic tours, including Fashion, Design and Architecture. Given the importance of Denmark in interior design, we chose this tour with a focus on the city center, design and architecture. Well, we had one of the best tours of our lives. Dorte, our guide, was charming, interesting, and extremely knowledgeable. She showed us a city and a culture that we would not come close to appreciating otherwise. They also offer group walking tours. They are very flexible and worth every penny or Danish Krona.
Plus if you are there on a Sunday during the Summer season, there is a great jazz canal boat tour. It was lots of fun and a great way to see this charming and big city.
