Hello, we will be staying in Copenhagen for several days and we'd like to get out of the city for some walking for one or more days, using public transportation to get to our starting point. I'm considering spending a day or two walking or biking on the Fjordstien path along the Roskilde fjord. Is that something we could do on a day trip? Train to Roskilde, then walk several hours before we reverse course? We're open to other ideas too such as north of Copenhagen along or near the coast. We can make it a day trip or stay in the area for a couple of nights. Thanks.

You can take a train to Roskilde and walk along Fjordstien as long as you like and then return, but if you don't want to walk the same route twice, try one of these:
- Take a train to Frederikssund and walk south to Roskilde. It took us two days and we spent the night in Jyllinge. Con: we had to carry all our luggage for the trip.

Of course you can do it. But if it was my trip I'd try to find a route where I can reach both end points by public transportation so I don't have to walk back the same way I came.
