When we visit Copenhagen in the latter half of October, we are staying at the Scandic Palace, which is quite close to the TIvoli Gardens. We have a couple of nights unscheduled for dinner as of yet, and my wife doesn't want to walk very far. Does anyone have any experiences with the restaurants in and around the Tivoli Gardens area? Or alternatively, close to the Scandic Palace?
Thanks, Jim
Have been to Tivoli Gardens twice and eaten in the park. Quite pleasant and I recommend it.
I ate at a Thai restaurant called Poonchai, which had some really good Thai food. It's right across from the train station, so would be about a 10-12 minute walk from your hotel. I believe it's recommended in Rick's guidebook.
And as noted above, Tivoli Gardens has some great food options, including a cafe called Cakenhagen that has some of the most beautiful pastries I've ever seen. Truly amazing and they tasted exquisite. I would also recommend an evening visit to Tivoli, as that is when the magic happens. I loved it here, and it was so beautiful.
Cakenhagen is more of a cafe for coffee and cakes. I recommend Nimb, but here is a list: https://www.tivoli.dk/en/mad-og-drikke/spisesteder (note the price indicator: $, $$, etc.).

These are great suggestions, Enersen, thank you very much.
I'm also going to suggest the Tivoli Food Hall. Not fancy but lots of little places serving all types of food. You can enter from the street and don't have to go through Tivoli Gardens to get there. It's just a few minutes walk from your hotel.
I particularly like the Smorrebrod which are Danish open sandiwches.
Thanks, Frank. Yes, we've been to the food hall and I agree the sandwich place is quite good. Right now we are looking for recommendations among the fine dining restaurants in the Tivoli Gardens area, as I understand there are several.

It is, but I'll bet the OP's wife would love it!
Cakenhagen wins for cutest cafe name ever.
We enjoyed Maple Casual Dining - do reserve ahead and it's not too far away. And in Tivoli, there is also a Wagamama if you want some good vegetables - it's a healthy meal. You can get in there without Tivoli tickets, or from Tivoli and then walk back out into the park.

Mary, I agree! And here is a photo of the pastry I got. It's not only delicious but beautiful! https://photos.app.goo.gl/X6rmXwfrFGxoTnSL9
