DOT app for ticket purchase

I've downloaded the DOT app in preparation for an upcoming trip to Copenhagen. I have to enter my phone number on the first screen and then I'm supposed to "press Continue". I've put in my US number but I am not directed to anything that says "continue".

Am I able to use the app or will I just need to buy tickets from machines?

Thanks for assistance!

I don't know, but this help page on the DOT website (in English) advises how you can pose the question to them (once they re-open for business on Monday)

https://www.publictransport.dk/contact

(They didn't address the question directly in their FAQ, that I could see )

In other forums I've read that you must have a Danish IP to register. If that is the case, connect to wifi when you arrive and register. Make sure you write the number on the international format beginning with +1 for US.

Thanks for the replies. I may just go with the Copenhagen Card for a few days and since that includes transportation, I may not need the DOT app.

There is also a transport only pass called "city pass" that you can buy from a ticket machine. Comes in two sizes, "small" for Copenhagen and "large" for the same area as Copenhagen card discover. Length is one to five days (24h).

Good to know I can get the pass from the machine. That sounds like the easiest thing to do.
Thanks!

I had this same question -- glad I searched the trusty Forum! I had come to the same conclusion after trying to input my US number in the DOT app. Does anyone know if there is another app or website where one can purchase Copenhagen metro tickets without a Danish phone number (perhaps with just an email address)? If not, I'll just buy at the station and get a paper ticket but would love to be able to have a digital ticket instead. Thank you in advance!

I had also downloaded that app but after researching our plans while in Copenhagen, we have decided we will benefit most from the Copenhagen Discover Card which includes transportation. So I just deleted the DOT app since I ran into the same issue you described.
